Dear diary,

Today was not just an adventurous but also a proud day for me.

The inciting incident in today's day was when I found my bestfriend had bought a parrot. I felt very excited to see it but there was some sort of sorrow grasping my heart. I was confused. Sorrow? Why would someone feel 'sorrowful' if their bestfriend just bought a cute pet parrot? I have always loved pets but never actually thought of having one. When I saw the parrot hop quietly in his cage, I realized that the reason why I never had pets was because I didn't want to capture them for any reason, even for my entertainment. I told my bestfriend that the parrot deserves his independence. He would have more fun flying in the sky, meeting with his friend parrots, and just being independent and free. I also told her that the feeling of setting a bird free from its prison is splendid. And so it was. My friend did not object. She felt it was the right thing to return the bird back to its real home sweet home.

I feel more than happy at the thought of the parrot flying free in the sky and over the clouds. There are birds captured in their cages and that is wrong.

Bella
