You may have seen holes made in huge boardings. Why are these necessary?

Holes are made in hoarding to reduce force exerted by air on the hoardings.

When winds blow, the air passes through these holes and hence does not cause the hoarding to be torn.

when the boardings are hung holes are made in them it is necessary because the boardings could experience high velocity winds that could make the boarding fall upon something or someone that could cause lifeless or property loss hence holes are made so that the winds could pass through the holes that are made in the boardings
