Fungi is that which grow on pickles, leather, etc. if left in hot and humid weather.
It's said that fungi has saprophytic mode of nutrition which can be explained as follows,
The plants which derive their food from dead and decaying organic matter are called saorophytes or saprophytic plants or saprotrophs.
Example :- Mushrooms, fungi (beard mould) and some bacteria (Lactobacillus, Acetobacter).
Saprotrophs secrete digestive juices on the dead and decaying organic matter and convert them into a solution. Then, they absorb the nutrients from it.
