Though there is no dearth of awareness regarding child labour, sadly, people still employ children. Often, one can see young boys working in markets. More often than not, they are given the duty of carrying tea to shopkeepers and workers in busy markets. The boys have steel frames in which ten to twelve glasses of tea can be carried. Since tea is a hot beverage, the boys need to hurry before the tea cools down and loses its taste. But even in a rush, they need to be extremely careful about accidents. If they bang into anyone, the hot tea will burn them. The owner of the tea stall will also beat them, for spilling the tea and for breaking the glasses. No one will actually bother to ask the boys if they are hurt or are fine. This is because the children belong to poor families, living in overcrowded colonies, in villages outside the main city. In such conditions, earning money becomes important, not the children's well being. This encourages employers to employee the children at cheap rates and exploit them. The children cannot utter a word for the fear of being beaten up by the employer and the parents.
