Neighbours are strangers who can turn friends with a little effort on both sides

Gone are the days when neighbours were like family. They met and greeted each other whenever possible. However, everything has changed now. Nowadays, most of the time, we do not know who is staying next door. Forget about greeting, we are strangers who share space in a building. So, why don’t we change this practice and be more cordial with each other? It will only help us in many ways.

Safety

Being neighbours, you need to keep in mind each other’s safety. A good neighbour will keep an eye on who is coming and going when you are away and you can extend the same courtesy when they are away. All it takes is some extra effort. If you see anything wrong or suspicious, immediately alert whoever you can.

Peaceful living

Being cordial and nice with your neighbours is always good. This will ensure that you both live in peace. Never indulge in any fights as that can make the relationships ugly. Try and be helpful to each other as that will help in building a great relationship with each other. Always keep in mind to respect each other’s privacy and do not be loud and noisy. This will only make life stressful for both of you. Neighbours keep changing; so, it is wise to live peacefully with anyone who stays next door.

Different cultures

Having a cordial relationship with neighbours will help you learn and understand new customs and cultures. They may come from different regions and so, this is a good opportunity to know another culture better. It may not be totally different from what you know, but it is always exciting to know what and how they do certain things. It is actually fun and this can be a great bonding exercise as well.
