You need to get to class, 200 meters away, and you could only walk in the hallways at about 1.5 m/s. [ If you run any faster, you'll be caught for running). How much time will it take to get to your class?

Distance= rate × time

200m = 1.5m/s * t

Now solve for t to get the time in seconds

200=1.5*t (we want to get t by itself, so lets get rid of the *1.5 by dividing both sides by 1.5)

200/1.5 = t

t = 133.33 seconds

Explanation:

Time taken = Distance / Speed

= 200 / 1.5

= 2000 / 15

= 400 / 3

= 133.4 minutes.
