you need to measure the temperature of boiling water .Can you use a clinical thermometer for this? why or why not?

Clinical thermometer generally is used for measuring body temperature which is not as high as 100 degree. Therefore it does extend to the readings for such high temp. For measuring the temperature of boiling water we have to use a lab thermometer.

no.... clinical thermometers are generally of fahrenheit...and although if is of celsius they have maximum temperature that is about to 100 and boiling water could get a little more.. and in fahrenheit thermometer of clinic it would be just as difficult as finding a needle in grass...
