Answer:
The Lost Child by Mulk Raj Anand reveals the truth of this cliche the value of something is most conspicuous by its absence. The beauty of the story lies in the fact that the little boy knows nothing of this. He is not a thinker like most grown up men. But the lost child embodies this truth. So long he was with his parents he hungered for all that's not his . But the very moment he is denied of the company of his parents, he craves for their company but nothing else. There is a saying that a man with teeth doesn't know the value of teeth. The lost child strikes home this point to the readers without conscious knowledge of it. Here in lies the beauty of this unique short story.
