Answer:

So for six dollars you need to feed a family of four. This is some of the foods that we ate when were growing up, We also ate this during Lent. Except the dish with the weiners in it. That was a no go there. We used cheese instead.

Get a five pound bag of potatoes, eggs, one onion and a pack of weiners. For dinner you will have a hash brown type dish.

Diced the weiners, onion and peeled potatoes , please wash them. Cook that up in pan that has a little bit of oil, salt and pepper to taste. Cover the pan with a lid so that they are steamed cooked. It will come out tender. In a separate pan fry up an egg for each person. When the potatoes are cooked - dish it and put the egg on top of the nest of potatoes. It’s filling, and cheap. Nobody will walk away hungry from your table. If you have a littler bit of money left over I would buy a bell pepper or maybe some carrots, you can also dice them up and add it to the dish.

2. Buy some corn tortillas, a large can of refried beans, lettuce and tomatoes ( I think two tomatoes should do it). Fry up the tortillas in hot oil until crispy, drain the tortilla on an paper towel Three of four for each person. If you have some money leftover then buy some cheddar cheese.

Open the can of beans, pour a little bit of oil and season the beans to your taste. A little bit of garlic powder, salt, pepper and little bit chili powder maybe cumin. Just a little bit. I am assuming that you have these spices in your cupboard, Heat up the beans. Stir the beans make sure that they don’t burn, you want the beans to have a spreadable texture, not to thick but not thin either - you are going to spread this on the crispy tortilla carefully because that tortilla will break.

Start shredding the lettuce and dicing the tomatoes. Get the tortillas that are fried flat and spread the beans on it then top with the lettuce and tomatoes. Top with the grated cheese. Chalupas, that’s for dinner. Depending on how thick you spread the beans you can feed that family of four easily. If you buy the family pack of tortillas, you can make seconds for your family.

Or you could forgo the lettuce and tomato and just have cheese. That will be a bean and cheese nacho dish. But be warned kids can eat a ton of those.
