last Saturday,I visited Jeevan Asha which is an old age home for orphans & aged people in Mumbai. we can see old age homes all across in world. But unfortunately even the best old aged home has old people & childrens that are unhappy, lonely and sad. Science & even the best writers fail to explain the affection, bonding & love between a child and mother. There is no mother in this world who does not want her children to be happy. Every mother wants to do best thing that she could ever afford for her children. To get those best thing in the world every mother works hard throughout their loves. They even face situation where they have to remain hungry in order to feed their childrens. But the saddest part is when the children grow up they choose to push their mothers in the old aged home. When  the child grow up his/her mother want to spend some free time with him/her. But the child refuse to do so. When i visited Jeevan Asha i saw many mothers who were pushed by their childrens to spend their rest of their lives there. There mothers were very unhappy and where trying their level best to somehow adjust towards their surroundings talking people who where unknown and strange to them. I talked with those unfortunate mothers and collect found memories. I learned a lot form them. Many mothers were till hoping some days their childrens will come and asked them to go back home. During my visit in Jeevan Asha i learnd that being old person is not every easily for someone. Those people where suffering from relationship pain &loneliness which was easily seen in their wet eyes. There were separate wards and each wards consisted of 3-4 beds.I did not visit few wards as i was not allowed to enter because it had mentally retarded people in it. I took some useful items with me like bed sheets, fruits, sops, snacks etc. And distributed to them. Before i visit i thought that orphanage is for poor people but i saw many deprived mothers who belongs to well established families.

Dear Diary,(optional)

With the disintegration of the joint family system, the aged find themselves deserted and alone. It is unfortunate that in the evening of their lives, they are not looked after by their children. The concept of old age homes is for such old people. I made it a point to visit the ‘Old Home’ at Bhiwadi. The Home is situated at a peaceful place. The building is simple but spacious and clean. It seems to be an ideal place for the senior citizens.

A doctor visits the Home daily. There is a permanent nurse employed to look after and tend to their needs on time. The home has a good library and several means of recreation. All the inmates showered their parental love by insisting on having lunch with us. What a satisfying and rewarding visit it was, to meet our grandpas and grannies!
