When you roll the cube there are 6 possible outcomes: 1 2 3 4 5 6

.

There are 2 of these outcomes that are greater than 4. These outcomes are 5 and 6.

.

Therefore you have 2 chances out of 6 of getting a number that is greater than 4 as an

outcome.

.

You can express this as  which reduces to .

.

This means that in every three rolls (when you make lots of rolls) you are likely to average

one number that is greater than 4. Make 9,999 rolls and on 3,333 of those rolls you are

likely to get a 5 or a 6 ...

.

Hope this helps you to gain some understanding of the concept of probability.

{BONJOUR!}

The composite numbers on the cube are 4 and 6

Hence P(E) = 2/6 = 1/3
