When number of cones (x) increases then profit must be increased.That means, y is directly proportional to x

only one equation y = 2x satisfy this condition. all other equations does not satisfy the condition.

y = 2x gives that if the x number of ice cream sold the the profit made is 2x.

y = 8 + x   (all time profit is number of item  plus 8)

y = x – 8  (all time profit is number of item  minus 8)

y = 2x – 8 (all time profit is 2 times number of item  plus 8)

y = 2x  Each item get Rs.2  profit. It is valid
