1. The seeds start to germinate.
2. The seed coat becomes soft and ruptures.
3. When we gently open the seed, the embryo of seed is visible.
4. The middle portion of the seed is called embryonal axis which beans epicotyl and hypocotyl.
5. Epicotyl give rise to plumule whereas hypocotyl gives rise to radicle.
6. Attached with embryonal axis are two broad leaf-like structures called cotyledons.
