Answer:
Recently I had a chance to visit the old age home in community medicine visits.
The old age home was situated in outskirts of the city.
We were asked to interact with the people staying there.
When I entered the kingdom of old people, I felt a odd sensation in my stomach.
In the beginning I was saying nothing to anybody as I was scanning the whole environment with my naked eye.
Then we interact with an old lady whose spinal cord was bent so much that she was not able to walk properly, she was reading something when we went beside her and instead of the welcoming smile, a frantic look crossed her face.
And the book she was reading was HOLY BIBLE.

I felt very emotional interacting with that old lady, although she was from a good family she needs to stay there because her son is in Japan for the job and her daughter is married and well settled.
Her husband past away long ago. Despite of being away from her family she was not depressed or complaining about her life.
She was an experienced and pure soul, and she shared her knowledge and experience with us. And at the time of departure she asked to come to meet us again.
What an inspiring lady!
After interacting with her we went to many other people and many of them were settled with their situations but some were little bit frustrated. There were many old people who either have no family or abandoned by their families.
It's heart breaking also to imagine what those poor soul feels when asked to leave the home.
And one more thing that in our country why the old fathers and mothers can't live with their married daughter's family??
It was a new experience for me and mixed feelings were inside but I personally feel the people there , felt very lonely and abandoned. All the youngsters should take care of their parents, grandparents and their in laws.

Dear Diary
It took me no time to figure out that old age home was the place where I wanted to spend a week as a part of my social studies project.
I was excited. Though it was not easy to convince the home manager, my thoughts and emotions convinced him. My parents were supportive. On the first day, I was introduced to all the members by the manager. It was rather strange for the ‘grandpas’ and ‘grandma’ that a young boy/girl had come to stay with them. I could understand this from the questions they asked me. Some were too hilarious !
I invited them to the common room to play various games and talk about life in general. As if I had opened pandora’s box for them, they lapped up the idea. We sang, danced, played, solved riddles and Sudoku, laughed and cried. Some were great at pulling my leg. They started calling me for everything. I understood that it was not due to their needs but the joy and peace which they found in my company. Perhaps, they were fulfilling their wish to grow old with their grandchildren through me. As they say, good times fly but sad times crawl, with a promise to visit them every weekend and write letters, I left my newfound home.
