Last weekend I got the golden opportunity to visit my native village Srikakulam for celebrating Pongal festival with my grandparents.
I was surprised when my grandfather took to a nearby river for taking bath. Then he accompanied to our rice fields and both of us visited the village fair in the afternoon.
In the evening grandma took me to the temple fairs where I got a chance to see the Karagattam presentation.
I was served hot rice with sambar and vegetable curry in earthern pots. I was shocked to see grandma cook dinner in earthern utensils over firewood. Finally I went to sleep on grandfather's cot watching the star lit sky on terrace.

I had a wonderful time with them. I visited the village fair during the festival and I was mind blown! I also bathed in the river, took long walks in our fields and I ate the tasty food cooked in the earthen pots.
I slept on the terrace on a cot under the starlit sky and it was really beautiful.
