you traveled one km at a speed of 100 km per hour and another km at a speed of 1 km per hour, your average speed would not be (100 km/h + 1 km/h)/2 or 50.5 mph. What would be your average speed? (Hint: What is the total distance and total time?)

case 1
A/C to quesion,
time =1/100 hour
case2
time =1/1 hour=1hour

total time =1/100+1=101/100hr ,total distance =1+1=2km

therfore, average sped = total distance/total time=2×100/101=1.98km/h

i hope it helps you
