You want to buy pure cotton cloth for block printing. Answer the following in this regard:
(i) Any two characteristics of cotton fiber
(ii) Why you have chosen cotton for block printing

(i)Color: The color of cotton fiber could be white, creamy white, bluish white, yellowish white or grey. Tensile Strength: Cotton is moderately strong fiber. It has a tenacity of 3-5 gm/den. The strength is greatly affected by moisture; the wet strength of cotton is 20%, which is higher than dry stren.

(ii)Block printing is the one which will be done by rubbing the surface against inked surface ! Using Colton will be easy to copy the exact print Which was present in the ink ! Therefore .. using cotton is efficient for block printing !!

(iiiThe weave should be fine tight over under weave

(iv)Block printing involves carving the desired pattern onto a large block, covering that design in ink or dye, and stamping it onto the fabric. While blocks could be made from stone, they were most commonly made of wood.
