You want to electroplate a copper nail with silver metal. What would you
choose as

b. Cathode

  • Anode --> nail (copper)
  • Cathode--> pure silver
  • Electrolyte --> Silver salt (AgNO3)

Ions of silver will move to negative electrode and gain electrons and settle on nail.

In diagram. It is spoon there is no difference with material or shape of the anode.
