You went on an international trip with your friends when you were getting back you and your friends forget their passport and then next what happens...?? (300 words)

1. If possible, I would go back to the hotel where we were staying and get the passports back. [well since if we(tourists) are staying at the tourist hotel or any hotel, even if the staff cleaned our room too properly after we left, there is no way they would throw our passports in the garbage or steal it, it there?]
2. If the passports aren't there then we got to stay at the same hotel for a night. (even if you say you won't have enough money, then 'no no no, we got backup money ready, you know.') we would check all the bags and inside the clothes all night.
