My dear Ismail,

The students of our class went to Mahabaleshwar on a happy excursion trip during the last summer vacation, being escorted by our two teachers. Forty of us went by a reserved deluxe bus. The bus left the city at about 7 o’clock in the morning. We reached the spot of excursion in the afternoon. On the way, we saw many beautiful sights of the streams and the hills which kept our eyes and heart charmed all through the thrilling journey.

On the day at Mahabaleshwar, we did not move much outside our hotel that was reserved beforehand by our teachers. But on the following morning, we went to the beautiful lake, the sight of which pleased us greatly. It is a wonderful lake surrounded by hills. The water is very clear. Many tiny motor boats and also ordinary boats, which are plied by oars, were seen on the bed of “the water with tourists on board. The coloured sails attracted our curious attention. Some of us took snaps of that enchanting scene of the lake from different angles.

Please let me know at an early date, if you have any such experience of a particular nice place. If so, kindly write to me in details. I would definitely like it.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Dear Friend,

I am fine at my place hoping you are also fine. I am writing this letter to share my experience of visiting a remote place. Just yesterday I returned from Bombay, where I had gone on a trip with my schoolmates. I was so excited about the experience that I  decided to write it all down for you. We were forty people in all, and we were all from Std. IX. The class planned a trip to Bombay because most of us hadn't seen the city. The journey took a total of fifteen days during which we had to visit both Bombay and Goa. It was a lot of fun, especially since most of us got the chance to see these two places for the first time.  We left Delhi on October 10th on the August Kranti train and were in Bombay by the morning of the 11th. We also had four teachers. Here in Bombay, our stay in a dormitory had been arranged. All of us, the teachers and the children, stayed in the hostel. The first sight of the city gave me a neat, clean, and above all disciplined impression, very different from our Delhi. Despite a crowded city and a bustling crowd, there's an obvious discipline in town; we could see everything in the public places where we went. I was fascinated to see the double-decker buses go by. Local trains are also very good and regular there, a very convenient way to travel long distances. Oh, how many passengers do these long-distance trains carry? I wish that Delhi would have such a way of getting around in the city that would relieve the traffic situation considerably.
