The pitter-patter on the corrugated roof snapped me from my study. I quickly took a look from my window. The dark heavy sky looked like a small boy with downcast eyes about to cry. Not even a small speck in the sky was cloudless. Before I could get a full gaze of the sky, it started raining torrentially.
The squirrels ran into the tree holes within a frisk of the moment. A tribe of sparrows flew away over our garden to huddle together on the outer window sill of a floorboard house. It was raining so heavily that there was a smokescreen of rain. The breeze moved this smokescreen in its direction.
When the rain mellowed down to a drizzle, I saw our garden in its gorgeous best. The breezy frolicking of the jenia, bougainvillea, hibiscus and the small wild flowers in groves filled me with a blissful happiness. The slipping of the rain drops on the tall and small grasses looked like released pearls. Big droplets poised themselves beautifully on the broad leaves.
The painter in me took out brushes, colours and canvas to paint my third impasto.
