ANSWER :

It is the simplicity of the narrator that makes it interesting. the story give a true picture of a certain Armenian tribe. It was a poor tribe. But in spite of their poverty and hunger, these people lived an honest and  joyful life. The basic goodness of these people forms the theme of this story. The two boys riding A stolen horse yet they can't be call thieves. they don't intend to keep the horse with them forever. And they return it the moment they see it would be no longer safe to keep it. The Other interesting element in this story is its gentle humour. Mourad’s charming self confidence and Khosrove’s craziness of ‘There is no harm, pay no attention to it’ add their own interest to the story.

Though there is no swashbuckling action in the story, still it is quite absorbing. What make the story interesting is Mourad’s adventurous eccentricities. He brings a stolen horse to his cousin Aram’s house to share with him the joy of horse-riding.  The reader feels the thrill of the galloping horse with the cousins. The way Mourad handles John Byro while taking the horse to hide in a barn is also quite exciting.  Uncle Khosrov’s unusual character also adds to the humour and interest in the story.
