Not at all .. because duck was not able to go out he was confined to the pond but in case of kangaroo he was free . That is why the duck asked the kangaroo to take him also in his back

Yes, we have seen some people flattering others to get their work done. They do it purposefully with a selfish motive. But in this poem, the Duck Is not of that nature. Yes, he had admired the Kangaroo for his ability to hop over the land and water but he was not in the mood of flattering.

He was in the form of a request that he made the Kangaroo. Also, the Duck was much concerned about the good health of the Kangaroo. so he bought some warm water clothes. Had he been flatterer in nature, he would not state his wish to say 'quack' during the ride. Therefore, we can say that despite Duck's admiring the Kangaroo, it was out of friendly concern.
