I strongly agree that young children should not be allowed to own mobile phones. By young children I am including any child under the age of 13. Children spend a lot of time in front of TV or video games and adding a phone to the equation would only add to that problem. Many young adults lack social skills because they become more comfortable texting instead of talking. We should only allow children that are old enough to be left at home alone to own a phone for safety reasons. Even then parents should put child safety steps in place. Children are vulnerable because of their maturity level and ability to trust easily. They are often targeted by predators and it is our job as adults to take steps to protect them. They lack the maturity to make decisions that come with owning a phone.
