your age = X years         mothers age  = Y years
your mothers age is 5 times  your age  means
Y = 5 * X
sum of two ages  =  X + Y  = 60        substitute the value of Y
 X + 5 X = 60      =>    6 X = 60
 X = 10 years
Y = 5 X  = 50 Years

Let, my mother's age = x years
Then, my age = 5x years.
Sum of both of our ages = 60 years.
Therefore, x + 5x = 60
or, 6x = 60
or, x = 60/6 = 10
Hence, my mother's age = 10 years. My age = 50 years.

The question given by you is wrong.
It should have been my mother is 5times of my age.
