- The 56th "Champion Dog Show" organised by the South of India Kennal Club (SIKC), wherein more than 350 dogs participated was held at the Government Arts and Commerce College Ground in Ooty on Friday, the 5 March 2020. All members of the Animal Lovers Club attended the Dog show and actively volunteered in helping organisers to conduct the event successfully
- The three-day-event that began on Friday with the three speciality shows and the obedience test concluded on Sunday the 7th March 2020. More than 40 different dog breeds took part in the show. The 350 dogs were split into 10 groups and were judged on a variety of parameters, comprising body structure, coat and their movement in the ring.
- Apart from the dog show, the event also included many stalls which provided information with regard to the care and maintenance of dogs. It was also a platform for new dog breeders as they were taught the right ways of taking care of their pets, including their clothes, health, and food. As members of the Animal Lovers Club, we learnt many things about dogs which would help us contribute towards the club
- The show for the first time featured a separate category for native Indian breeds, comprising the Caravan Hound, Pashmi, Rampur Hound, and Rajapalayam. The Championship was judged by Regalle John from India, President PETAA, Luis Catalan, Honorary Secretary, Animal Club, Portugal and Fabio Amorim, Stylist and Veterniary, Brazil.

- Winner: Rochester the King (German Shepherd), Owner: Mr. Karnesh Pillai
- Ist Runners Up: Manzart Vogue (Doberman), Owner: Mrs. Akila Nandan
- Second Runners Up: Frostice Over the Moon (Golden retriever), Owner: Mrs. Kavya Mukund
- Fourth Place: Nikara Ellia (Beagle), Owner: Mr. Fredrick Smit
After the show, all members who volunteered in the event were given special certificates.
