We( me, my brother and cousins) all used to go to our maternal grand parents house. The house surrounded is by grass, trees, cattle shed, well and grain storage container. A big house in a village.
We used to get up early and start playing hide and seek or catch or cricket in the large grass area. You don't know which bug you may encounter while playing. Then around ten, we used to draw water from well ourselves , throw water at each other and have bath in the open area draped in towels. it was time for breakfast. We all used to sit in circle around our aunt and she used to feed us tamarind rice or pickle rice or curd rice with her hand.
We stayed inside the house for most part of the day due to heat. We played games like Ashtachamma, Snake and and ladder, Carrom with elders. There was a large swing on which six can sit at a time and we spent lot of time on that. After having lunch we used to sleep for couple of hours and then play for few more hours. By 7pm we used to be back in the house in fear of encountering a snake in the grass.
During dinner , our grandmother used to tell stories and we all listened to them intently. By the end of the day we were so tired that we used to sleep right away.
And the same used to repeat for next two weeks.
