Dear diary,
Today my brother’s board exams were announced and I am more than just excited to be penning this down. I woke up in the morning to the bird chirping near the window. My mother was cooking breakfast and as I could hear the rest of the world waking up, I could hear the sound of my brother, shouting for everyone to come check his result. I dragged myself out of bed to the bathroom where I quickly washed my face and brushed my teeth and made it out of my room where everyone was waiting. Apparently my brother had been up since 3 o’clock in excitement. After all, it was evident from his weary face and dark circles. As soon as everybody came, my dad turned his laptop on and started logging into the portal where the result was to be seen. My dad handed over the device to my enthusiastic brother and instructed him to click open the result. I could see his whole body sweating, shaking because of nervousness. My mother joined her hands, closed her eyes and was praying with all her might. My father, a tranquil man, also seemed anxious. I knew how much my elder brother had worked hard. Those sleepless nights, those trips to the library and the sacrifice of giving up his phone until the boards were over definitely did have to ensure a good result. He clicked open the page and a bold 10 was visible on the screen! Everybody rose up to a hurrah. My mom had started crying and blessing him while my dad slowly crept out of the room to get sweets for the victory. Those were some moments I could never forget. After the buzz was over, my brother crept over to check a detailed analysis. He had earned a perfect score in most of the subjects and that instance I looked up to him as a role model. We then had breakfast followed by a never ending series of phone calls from family and friends congratulating him and wishing him the best for the continuing journey. I wish my brother the absolute best for his future.
