My name is Renu and I live in Chennai.
Recently, we witnessed torrential rains in our city during the last few weeks and it has wreaked havoc upon us.
The roads were dug up for laying drainage pipes a few months ago and were not properly laid again.
As a result, they are a lot of potholes on the main roads where water has logged.
This has increased the traffic on these roads and has made the commute even more difficult.
Also, these water-logged areas have become mosquito breeding spots.
On the whole, it feels like our lives have come to the standstill.
I hope that the government soon looks into this and comes up with a solution for fixing the water logging issue.
It would be better if we have more traffic policemen appointed at major roads so that the jams can be avoided and the traffic stays regulated.
Also, the public works department can have a look into fixing the mosquito problem.
