It was a recent phenomenon when St. Stephen's college adopted the village of Ratana Nagar to enhance its community help program. It was charitable of them as they shouldered the basic responsibilities of the village.
Recently, the college attempted to develop the overall condition of the village by implementing various measures. Several programs related to health, cleanliness, sanitation, and education were organized to spread awareness. Programs propagating equality between genders were also showcased.
The incentive process was initiated where the student scoring the highest marks would be gifted a material gift along with a cash prize every year. Besides, the Government programs, the college has taken its initiatives.
As a next step, St. Stephens is planning to develop proper schools and hospitals along with proper working staff and doctors. Basic family planning and the importance of female education will also be initiated.
It was an act of sincere citizenship of the members of St. Stephens college where they are focusing on the development of the rural areas as well. The villagers were delighted to receive the required cooperation. The students who volunteered all along the process did a great job as well.
