Recently a very unusual thing happened with my family. We had gone on a vacation and had a wonderful time. We were fully refreshed by the time we returned home. However, a shocking surprise awaited us. We knew it had rained in our city in our absence. But we did not know it had rained so badly.
The moment we entered our area, we found the roads half flooded with water. My mother got panicky. She feared the water must have done damage to our house also, as our home was in a low lying area. As we neared the house, we saw from distance the sorry state of affair.
The lawn was submerged in water. Scooters were half drowned; the water had seeped into the house through gaps below the front door. We thanked God inside the house the damage had not been much.
We pumped the water out of the lawn. We did the cleaning inside the house. The smell of the damp lingered for a few days; and within a week everything was normal.
