Firstly, I would not try to shun the feeling of sadness. Being a human, it is natural to feel differently on various occasions. I simply would confront this feeling and try to understand what went wrong. Blaming my father for scolding me would never be my move. He has expectations from me which is obvious. To overcome this feeling I would forgive myself for getting average marks in exams and focus on what were my weak points during exams so that next time I could improve in them. Regret and guilt are the worst enemies and are never helpful. Just work on improving next time and remember this time too shall pass and it is just a part of life.
