Your friend has weak eye sight. He is unable to see the writing on the board but refuse to wear his glasses. As a result, he isn't able to do well in his class assignments .how you would encourage him to wear glasses and what you would say to convice him

if he is studious and obedient then we can say that if he doesnt wear glasses then he will lack in studies and if he is a little rebellious we can say that modern specs are very cool and he will look very good in it and he can have the choice of choosing the colour of specs HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

You could tell his friend that what he is doing is wrong and that it will only make his eyesight worse.
if he is still not convinced you can tell and adult and then that adult can try to convince him. Also that if he doesnt understand still then he will only suffer as he will make his eyesight go more bad.
