Posterior drawer test is undertaken when a knee suddenly tilts or gets flexed by some degrees.

The person cannot lift up his hands or knees and faces problems in making movements.

So this is because of some displacement of the knee and it is very important for the person to make effort and cause some movement on the knee or that part of the body in order to enable further movement.

Posterior drawer test is the best way to understand about muscles, ligaments etc.

After posterior drawer test has been carried out, one can understand if there is any end feel or not and based on this one can understand if the test resembles a positive posterior drawer test or not.

The test of the posterior drawer is conducted when it is suspected that there has been a rupture in the knee ligaments.

Explanation:

  • When my friend was playing in the basketball court and fell on his knee and couldn’t get up after that, the test of the posterior drawer was conducted where the results showed that there has been excessive motion in the posterior.
  • This depicts that tibia has been displaced and there has been significant injury in the ligament positioned at the posterior cruciate area.
