your friend lives with his grandparents who are unwell. he reaches school late because he needs to help them in morning. he is frequently penalised by the teacher.So what could you do to assist your friend and how he could resolve his situation

Firstly that friend should be appreciated for staying with their old grand parents and helping them! very few people do like that ! and it;s great felling of happiness too... but reaching school early is also important because punctuality matters out in future life! and hence that friend must wake a little bit earlier to help his grand parents out and reach the school early...and he must getting help from other friend to wake up early and help him up too..that's the better way to solve and resolve this simple but critical issue!
