With such a wide range to choose from, I thought this would be too difficult to narrow down to one choice, but I think I've come to a conclusion. The fruits that came to mind as contenders for favourite for various reasons are apples, pears, bananas, mangoes, tomatoes and lemons.

Apples: apples are like a lot of fruits, have that sweetness that can sate my sugary desires. Also, most varieties when eating produce a satisfying crunch when bitten into. It is also this crunch that while not completely negating the need to brush your teeth, (due to the acidic nature and sugar content) help to keep your teeth and gums in a healthy state. Add onto that the fact that my favourite alcoholic Beveridge (apple cider) is made from this fruit makes a strong contender for my favourite fruit.

Pear: pears are generally even sweeter than apples, also pear cider is possibly even tastier than apple cider in small quantities (I can only drink so many without feeling nauseous). But that being said, pears seem to have a point of ripeness where when perfectly ripe, they will make you forget all your worries for the few seconds it takes to wolf one down, leaving you looking around for more, for your next pear fix. The texture can be heavenly, a nicely ripe pear doesn’t even need to be chewed, you can suck it into your gullet through the tiny gaps between your teeth.

Bananas: When i’m tired and dehydrated from drinking too much coffee or alcohol, this is my go to fruit. The balance of simple sugars and salts helps to rehydrate you (along with a glass of water of course). Along with their protective outer skin, they seem to be the perfect portable snack. Or you can cut them in half, fry in a little bit of oil, sprinkle with brown sugar and peanut butter and add a scoop of icecream for a decadent late night snack, or breakfast!

Mangoes: I don’t think I need to say much here, taste 10/10, texture is comparable to a good pear. A good mango will leave you sucking on the seed like the bone from a rib eye steak.
