Yes friction is completely dependent on surface area.

I will correct my friend by giving him/her a example we are able to write , walk just because of friction.

friction is oppostion of the force it may be gravitationl ,magnetic or electrostatic forces.

hope this helps you.

pls mark as brainlist ans .

If is apparent that the friction doesn’t depend upon space of contact

  • I will make a case for this reality to my friend by fastening a brick unbroken horizontal to the surface to a balance and actuation it at the hook.
  • The same experiment I interact keeping the brick vertical to the surface.
  • In each the experiments we discover no distinction and that i can build him to come back to the conclusion that the friction depends on the conventional force and not on weight of the thing on the surface of contact.
  • Friction force depends on traditional force between bodies and co-efficient of friction between bodies. As we all know traditional force does not depend upon form of surface or space of contact, friction co-efficient is merely parameter that only depends on nature of surface, thus we are able to say co-efficient of friction force depends on Nature of surface.
  • Friction is outlined because the resistance offered by the surfaces that area unit to bear after they move past one another. Friction provides traction that's required to run while not slippery .
  • Friction is useful in most cases. However, they conjointly supply an excellent live of opposition to the motion.
