Acid :- acid is the substance which has atleast one protic hydrogen. for example :- HCl, HF, H2SO4 etc.. all are acid because all have atleast one protic acid.
in kitchen, there are lot of things which can used in place of acid.
lemon - citric acid
vinegar - acetic acid
Apple - malic acid
orange - citric acid etc...
base :- base is the substance which has atleast one hydroxide ion, or which is protic hydrogen accepter is known as base. for example :- NaOH, Mg(OH)2, Li(OH), KOH etc...
in kitchen, there are lot of things to use in place in of base.
soap , baking soda , ammonia, washing soda etc..
neutral :- when strong acid reacts with strong base, it forms a neutral compound, e.g., salt.
for example :- NaCl, BaCl2, CO2, KCl, NaNO3 etc..
in kitchen, NaCl is salt which can be used in neutral compound.

Very Good Question .
Our Kitchen is really a good Laboratory with different acids , bases and salts which we use in our daily life for various purpose.
Acids :
Acids are the substances which are sour to taste and which turn blue litmus paper to red.
Acids on dissolving in water releases H+ Ions.
Acids are of two types:
- Organic Acids
- Mineral Acids like H2SO4 , HNO3 , HCl Which we use in chemistry lab
Where as we use Organic acids in our cooking like :
- Citric Acid --- present in citrus Fruits
- Tartaric Acid --- Present in Tamarind
- Vinegar --- Dilute Acetic acid
- Curd- lactic Acid
- Apple - Malic Acid
Bases :
Bases are the substances which release OH- ions in water.
Bases are bitter to taste and change red litmus paper to blue.
Strong bases like KOH, NaOH etc are used in labs .
Uses of Bases in Daily Life:
- Tooth Paste which we use to brush our teeth and also at times to clean silver utensils.
- Ammonium Hydroxide - In cleaning glasses like Colin
- Magnesium Hydroxide-- As an atnacid
- Ammonia -- As cleaning agent
- NaoH---it is a major component in clearing clogging of drains or kitchen sinks.
- Baking Soda is a as an Antacid
- Baking Powder is used in Baking industry
Salts used in Daily life in Kitchen :
- NaCl: Used in cooking for enhancing taste of Food.
- Bleaching powder used as a cleansing and as a disinfectant in water.
- Washing Soda is used in preparing soaps that we use in kitchen.
- Plaster of Paris is now a days used as false ceiling for the roofs in living room and kitchen also.
