Answer:
1) Agriculture is the art and science of cultivating the soil, growing crops and raising livestock. It includes the preparation of plant and animal products for people to use and their distribution to markets .....
2) the primary objective of practicing mixed farming is to maximise yeild , and of course the income . The system also aims at fully utilising the available land and labour throughout the year.
3) Livestock is commonly defined as domesticated animals raised in an agriculture setting to produce labor and commodities such as meat, eggs, milk, fur, leather, and wool......In particular ,livestock, especially beef ,dairy and sheep stocks, have out-sized influence on green house gas emissions from agriculture..
4) following are the advantages of tilling:
- It helps in turning the soil which helps bringing the nutrients from the soil to the top.
- It helps in loosening the soil which helps the roots to penetrate deep in the soil.
- It also help in proper mixing of manure in the soil .
- It helps in preparing a good clean area for planting seed .
- Tilling improves the water retaining capacity of the soil.
5) The seeds which float on the surface of the water are either spoiled or eaten by insects which creates holes in the seeds and allow them to float on the surface of the water . Hence, they sink at the bottom of the container .In this way, healthy seeds are selected by the farmers for sowing.
6) a) seed treatment is an intergral part of crop protection and defined by this guidelines as the application of chemical ingredients and/or biological organisms to or repel plant pathogens ,insects, nematodes,or other pests that can damage seeds.
b) soil insects and insects that attack the seedlings as they are emerging can be controlled or deterred . Low dose .Small amounts of pesticides are used in seed treatments compared to broadcast sprays . This reduces the environmental impact.
7) A funnel - shaped tool is used to sow the seeds traditionally . The funnel is filled with seeds and the seeds pass through two or three pipes with sharp ends. These ends enter into the soil and the seeds are placed there.
8) The use of seed drill is better because by using seed drill , seed drill are down at proper places and proper depth. The seeds are sown perfectly. But by broadcasting there is no proper depth also .So farmers consider seed drill is better than broadcasting.
9) Starting with baby plants can give you more control and predictable results in the garden. Transplant give you a huge jumpstart on the season because they will mature sooner and give you an earlier harvest . However, consider that transplants can introduce weeds and diseases into your garden.
10) Transplanting is the most common and elaborative method of crop establishment for rice in asia . Rice seedlings grown in a nursery are pulled and transplanted into puddled and leveled fields 15 to 40 days after seeding (DAS).
