Chapter Introduction - पाठ प्रवेश (सपनों के-से दिन)

बचपन में भले ही सभी सोचते हों की काश! हम बड़े होते तो कितना अच्छा होता। परन्तु जब सच में बड़े हो जाते हैं, तो उसी बचपन की यादों को याद कर-करके खुश हो जाते हैं। बचपन में बहुत सी ऐसी बातें होती हैं जो उस समय समझ में नहीं आती क्योंकि उस समय सोच का दायरा सिमित होता है। और ऐसा भी कई बार होता है कि जो बातें बचपन में बुरी लगती है वही बातें समझ आ जाने के बाद सही साबित होती हैं।
प्रस्तुत पाठ में भी लेखक अपने बचपन की यादों का जिक्र कर रहा है कि किस तरह से वह और उसके साथी स्कूल के दिनों में मस्ती करते थे और वे अपने अध्यापकों से कितना डरते थे। बचपन में लेखक अपने अध्यापक के व्यवहार को नहीं समझ पाया था उसी का वर्णन लेखक ने इस पाठ में किया है।
