Here’s what I think of the ‘Law of Attraction’:

1. ‘Law of attraction’ makes people believe that they are in complete control over their lives. It ignores the role of external factors such as social institutions. It is based on the ideas of individualism. It does not take into account of the fact that we are social animals and our personal choices are dictated by factors that reside outside of us.

2. Books about the ‘Law of attraction’ present the idea as something that sprung out of ancient wisdom, thereby endowing it an aura of mysticism. It also employs the use of rags-to-riches biographical accounts, telling people how ordinary people undergo a complete transformation of circumstances due to their thinking.
