To separate strontium ions using a inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, the spectrometer is calibrated in the following way :-

  • 40Hz frequency generator and a charge detector is used to detect strontium ions.
  • The device has to be operated in transient acquisition mode.
  • cyclonic spray chamber, gas concentric nebulizer and an axial viewing quartz torch is used.
  • The power of frequency generator has to be set such that the waves can be clearly seen through spectrometer.
