Founders’ Day is traditionally a very important day in the school calendar when members of the school community – students, governors, staff and friends – meet to commemorate those who founded the school and who have bequeathed resources to its development. An atmosphere of celebration filled The Scindia School when the students and teachers gathered to celebrate the Founder’s Day. Click here to see Photographs of the event.

The chief aim is to actively develop the ambition and potential of every student, whether it is academic or any other sphere. The school believes that a student can achieve anything with focus, perseverance and confidence. The Old Boys said unanimously that they owe their education to their founders.

The day was celebrated with fervor, zest and enthusiasm in the school. An extravaganza of activities was conducted. All activities were designed to contribute towards an all-round development of young Scindians.

The day began with unfurling of the school flag by Mr Mayank Arora from Batch of 1990. Various magazines were released by Mr Arora and he was assisted by the student editors of their respective magazines. He felt that the school life teaches a child to adapt and manage people from diverse background. Mr Mayank Arora felt that the initial formative years are very important for every student.

The Principal, Dr Madhav Deo Saraswat addressed the gathering in the morning assembly as expressed his admiration for the importance of silence at the beginning of the day. Dr Saraswat emphasized the role of a teacher in a student’s life as he feels a teacher lives for a cause.
As a mark of gratitude Mr Rajiv Kumar from the Batch of 1990, Ex Siddharth House presented a trophy in honour of Dr Suman Gupta. This trophy will be executed from next year and it will be given to the best house in elocution in the Junior School.

Then the Annual Athletics Finals were held at the oval field from 09:30 AM-11:30 AM. The Chief Guest was Wing Commander Dr Nandan Khalonkar, Batch of 1958.

The finals of various events were held. The young daring riders gave a riding display exhibiting their equestrian feats. Adi Nagpal came galloping bearing the school flag. Yuvraj Bhatia and Jagjeet Jain gave the standing salute. Amrit pal Singh Virk did tent pegging. The school band gave an amazing performance as they played Sam Bahadur, Bharat Ke Jawan, Chariots Of Fire along with Blessings Of God and more.

The awards were announced and the best athlete of Junior House A Group was Adwait Sharma and in B Group it was Kartikeya Kulshrestha. The best athletes of Senior House A Group were Ashish Khare, Aviral Jain and Divyaditya Singh and they were also given Sanjeev Raje Trophy. Whereas in B Group Anurag Yadav was adjudged as the best athlete. In seniors the inter house A Group Trophy was won by Jayappa House and in B Group it was bagged by Ranoji House. The overall trophy in senior group was won by Jayappa House. Mr Anurag Dixit was declared the winner in Old Boys’ race and he used to be a champion in his younger days at the school.

In a proud moment the old boys joined the march past decade wise after the events were over. They were led by Wing Commander Dr Nandan Khalonkar from the Batch of 1958.

Soon after the race the exhibition was thrown open for parents and guests in the School building from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM. The star attraction was a wide array of exhibitions that were displayed by the students. The untiring efforts by the students and teachers showcased the hidden talent of the young Scindians.

The much awaited evening began with the arrival of Chief Guest in the evening to witness the Founder’s Day programme at Shukla Memorial Open Air Theatre. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Honourable Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, Dr Shashi Tharoor. It was an honour to have President Board of Governors, His Highness Maharaja Jyotiraditya Scindia, Maharani Priyadarshni Raje Scindia, Professor Gautam Baruah and SOBA representatives.

The Chief Guest was escorted to the school building by the School Horse riding team led by Aadi Nagpal from Teli Temple. Upon arrival the Chief Guest was introduced to the Board of Governors and Senior School Prefect, Arindam Bharadwaj. The Chief Guest and the dignitaries went round the exhibitions beginning with handicrafts made by Nathuka Pura residents.
