Every child along with studies needs to participate in extra curricular activities.
Without a playground ,   its unimaginable for children.
A playground is necessary for every school.
  I would write a letter to the principal  about the necessity of a playground  for children. I would tell the school authorities about the dangers of playing near the roadside.

Till the playground is available, certain alternate arrangements can be made like ,taking the children to a nearby park under the supervision of the respective teacher.
