Answer:

Albert Einstein, supposedly the greatest man who has ever lived, is one of the inventors of the atomic bomb. I have a problem with people being praised for being destructive.

Who invented dynamite? Scientists. Who created pesticides? Scientists. Agent orange, HFCS, and drugs like PCP? Science started it all.

Some scientific ideas may sound nice, but it is usually to correct their own problems. Cancer is the product of asbestos, cell phone radiation, chemicals, etc. Diabetes happens mostly with people who eat too much sugar, which wasn't cheaply available until the geeks invented HFCS.

It's about time we humans stop trying to be some "dominant" species. Thanks to our globalized society, it is easy for a disease to spread from one person to the whole world in less than a month, assuming someone catches it and rides a plane the next day. We are also causing the extinction of many animals and destroying our only home, Earth. And people simply suggest to push it all under the bed and find a new home in space.

People are wasting resources in space travel (which does nothing more than let geeks fulfill their fantasies), ocean exploration (which isn't even our ecosystem, plus many of the animals down there are brought up for experimentation), and discovering new elements, many of which last just 1 millisecond. And why should it matter what shape the Earth is, what we're made of, or where we came from? Doesn't affect me the slightest. It would be nice to see that money be spent on, say, children in Africa.

Survival of the fittest helps ensure that ideal traits get passed down to the next generation, but science has allowed us to fool the system, so our children will not be more robust. The invention of braces has made it so having straight-tooth genes no longer matters. Eyeglasses, contacts, LASIK, etc., have allowed people with bad eyes to survive and compete. This may SOUND like a good thing, until you realize it means poor vision and crooked teeth will never be eliminated from the gene pool. If all this technology failed, humanity is doomed
