Good morning, Madam Principal, respected teachers and all my school mates.
It is a great honour for me to stand here before you and share a few words on a very important day- ' The Senior Citizen Day'.
We all have heard the adage,'Old is gold' but how many of us have realized its value? It is the greatest truth ever asserted. We are here because of our Senior Citizens.
When India won her freedom at midnight about seventy three years ago, it was at the cost of millions of lives. Those great men and women and all the 'midnight's children' are today's senior citizen.
It is for these great people, the pillars of society, the back bone of every family that we have been able to erect our sky scrapers of ambition. But most of us forget their immense contribution. Either we neglect them or thrust them to old age homes.
It is high time that we realize our mistake and be kind and gentle to our senior citizens. We should not forget that old age is the second childhood 'sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything' in this drama of life and all of us have to go through this age.
So I urge each and every one of us to treat our senior citizens with respect and kindness.

But, they donot get the proper respect and the service they need. It doesnot matter if he/she is rich or poor, they contributed their whole life to the society in different way. So, we should promise them to help them and give the proper respect.
