A very serious accident took place on September 9 at about 8.30 am near our school. I had just went to school, when I saw a bus coming at a fast speed. As soon as it came near the intersection, a man, lost in his own thoughts, stepped forward to cross the road. The driver saw the man and in an effort to save his life, he applied the brake. As the speed was fast the bus at once overturned. Since at that time many students were there. No sooner did they see the bus overturned than they rushed to help the passengers. I too parked my scooter on a side and joined them. With great difficulty, we pulled the passengers out of the bus. Most of them had received serious injuries and they were crying with pain. My friend rang up the hospital for the services of ambulance. When the ambulance arrived, I helped my friend carry injured persons to the ambulance. Some of them were bleeding profusely. Two women had received injuries on the head. One child had become unconscious. With the efforts of our senior students, all the injured persons were safely transported to the hospital. Their work indeed was commendable.
