Durgapur, 24th January: On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the N.S.S unit of our school had organised a blood donation camp.
The great leader had urged our countrymen,' Give me blood and I shall give you freedom", honouring his thoughts and his sacrifice the N.S.S organised the camp.
Blood is a very essential component for survival. Alarmingly the blood banks of the city are running at a dearth of blood. N.S.S requested all students , teachers, staff and parents to donate blood.
The event turned out to be a grand success. Not only did a huge crowd turn up to donate blood, but eminent personalities of the city also showed.
The Mayor himself donated blood along with most of his team.
Everyone was given a certificate and food packet. N.S.S Cadets managed the entire camp very meticulously.
Strict order and discipline was maintained. There was no report of any untoward incident.
The entire blood collected was handed over to the State run Blood Bank at the Durgapur Municipality Hospital.
The N.S.S was congratulated by all concerned for their good work.
