Your stomach contains hydrochloric acid but you don't experience any burn why?

Bcoz the inner stomach lining has mucus which protects our stomach from acidic nature of Hcl. And we experience burn when pH falls below 5 due to which mucus membrane starts detouring and we feel burning sensation in stomach.
