Your university lecturer gave you an assignment. You won't be able to submit your

assignment on time. Write a letter to your lecturer asking for an extension. In this letter

describe the situation, explain why your assignment will be late and say when you will

be able to hand in your assignment. (100-120 words)

Sub : Unable to submit the assignment

Sir,

With due respect I would like to inform you that I am unable to submit the assignment on time due to my headache problem. It happens with me in a week. I asked doctor why it was happened with me. He replied "don't worry ,take rest , you will be very soon. He has prescribed me not to think deeply so that it can't become a big burden on my brain. Take easy and think easy." He has prescribed me some medicine and I am taking it

If you permit me then I can submit it anytime. I know the importance of this assignment but unwillingly I am unable to submit it, pardon me for that.

I hope there will be a day and I will submit it very soon and you will be so good as to grant my prayer.

Sub: Requesting to extend the date of assignment

Sir,

I am Riya Basu, a student in the first year of MA English. In my letter, I am apologizing for my mistake.

I was not well for a long time, so I couldnot submit my assignment on time. The date of submission was 2nd November, 2020. I will attach my doctor's certificate with the letter. It would be helpful if I get another chance to submit.

I would be obliged if you consider my situation and give another date of submission.

Yours faithfully,

Riya Basu
